The Savoy Theater is a true Art-House Cinema. The physical space itself has come in and out of service as a movie theater since approximately 1905.  It was established in its current form in 1981 by Rick Winston and Andrea Serota, who were also an integral part of the annual local Green Mountain Film Festival.

The Savoy's mission has always been to provide Central Vermont with the best in independent and foreign film offerings,  a tradition we continue to this day.

In 2009, we upgraded our projection and sound systems to industry standard, state-of-the-art digital.  We also added a second theater downstairs (recently re-named The Morancy Room, in honor of the late Bill Morancy, one of our former projectionists) which allows us to offer two or more different films, seven days a week.  In addition to showing films we rent out our theater spaces for parties and special screenings.

We continually add new items to our concession offerings, including Craft beers, exceptional wines, and gourmet chocolates, as well as the usual movie concession items. It is well-known that we serve the BEST organic popcorn in Vermont - with real butter and our famous Brewer's Yeast topping (optional).
